Author's Blogs and Websites

Tamora Pierce:  Go and get 'The Song of the Lioness'. Go get it now. Read it. You will be changed, forever and for the better. These are the books that made me decide - 'Life? You will be dedicated to YA literature'. Thank you, Ms Pierce.

Garth Nix:  The man who convinced me zombies were cool. Mr Nix writes some of the densest and most fully realised fantasy worlds going - if you have problems with world-building, reading his books will teach you how to do better.

Phillip Pullman:  Have you read His Dark Materials? If yes, nuff said. If no - GO DO IT RIGHT NOOOOWW!!!

Neil Gaiman:  Fascinating posts on a variety of subjects not limited to writing, myths, fairytales, publishing, everyday life and being a Rock Star.

Lois McMaster Bujold: The writer of probably my favourite standalone book of all time, The Curse of Chalion, and many, many other astonishing books. Reading her work makes me a better (and more humble) writer.

Sherwood Smith: Oh, Sherwood Smith! If I had known that by exposing my young mind to Vidanric at such a young age, you would effectively make me unfit for any other man for the rest of my life. But it was totally worth it.

Ursula K Le Guin: Bow down before the wisdom and grace of the woman who has been blazing trails and setting the standard in fantasy and Sci-Fi since before I was born.

Sarah Rees Brennan: Crazy tales of Sarah's feminist adventures in travel, with her family and friends, in writing and in life. Plus, many many excellent book, film and TV recommendations.

Malindo Lo:  Really thoughful and funny posts on writing, the publishing process, politics, prejudice and gay characters in fantasy.

Maggie Stiefvater: Fantastic writing advice, book and music recommendations, and throwaway posts that will make you snork 'til you cry.
