BP Pulse has joined ChargeHub's Passport Hub roaming platform, bringing more than 850 charging points at over 95 locations into the North American roaming network, the two companies said.
The integration allows EV drivers to find, access and pay for charging at BP Pulse sites through the ChargeHub app. The same sites also become available to other e-mobility service providers (eMSPs) and automakers connected to Passport Hub, so their drivers can reach them through apps and services they already use.
The announcement did not specify how many of the 850-plus points are rapid or ultra-rapid chargers, or whether all of the points are available through every Passport Hub partner. ChargeHub describes Passport Hub as a roaming platform that connects charging networks with mobility service providers and vehicle manufacturers, designed to spare drivers from registering separately with each charge point operator.
For BP Pulse, the agreement widens the reach of its North American network by making its infrastructure accessible through a broader set of third-party platforms. For ChargeHub, it adds another charging network to its roaming ecosystem.
Sujay Sharma, BP Pulse's vice president of EV charging for the US, said the partnership expands access to the BP Pulse network through trusted roaming partners, and that charging networks working better together benefits the wider EV ecosystem and is a step toward accelerating EV adoption.
ChargeHub CEO Simon Ouellette said that a network of BP Pulse's scale choosing Passport Hub is a strong signal that the hub model has become the way roaming is done in North America. Because it is a hub, he added, the impact extends beyond the ChargeHub app: eMSPs and automakers in the ecosystem can offer their drivers access to BP Pulse fast chargers through connections they already hold.
